Pyramids FC Clinch Historic CAF Super Cup After Win Over RS Berkane

Egypt’s Pyramids FC claimed their maiden CAF Super Cup title with a narrow 1–0 victory over Moroccan side RS Berkane at the Cairo International Stadium on Saturday night.

The breakthrough came in the 75th minute when Congolese striker Fiston Mayele coolly converted from close range after a well-timed assist by Mohamed Chibi.

Goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy was equally crucial, making a series of fine saves to deny Berkane’s best efforts.

The victory completes a remarkable season for Krunoslav Jurčić’s men, who earlier captured the CAF Champions League crown.

It also serves as redemption for their loss to Berkane in the 2020 CAF Confederation Cup final, where they were edged 1–0 in Morocco.

Pyramids add to Egypt’s proud continental legacy, marking the nation’s 14th CAF Super Cup success overall, following the footsteps of Al Ahly (8 titles) and Zamalek (5 titles).
