Anthony Martial’s Potential Move to Mexico

Former Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is being pursued by a club in Mexico.

The French striker is currently signed with AEK Athens in Greece, a transfer he made nearly two years ago.

Recent Performance

Last season, Martial made 23 appearances for AEK, notching nine goals and contributing two assists. His efforts helped the team secure a fourth-place finish, earning qualification for the Conference League.

Transfer Interest

According to local Mexican journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, Pumas is interested in acquiring Martial, as the transfer window for Liga MX is set to close soon.

Merlo mentioned on his YouTube channel, “AEK is prepared to loan him to Pumas at no cost (they would only need to cover his salary), but Martial’s earnings are substantial.”

He added, “Negotiations have been ongoing for three or four days, but the player has yet to compromise on his financial demands.”

Current Situation

Merlo commented, “I’m not dismissing the possibility entirely, but given he hasn’t budged in four days, I find it unlikely that a deal will materialize today.”

He continued, “While Pumas is eager to sign Martial, the player remains firm on his demands. As of now, neither he nor his agent have shown willingness to negotiate. If they change their stance, there could be a possibility, but only time will tell.”
