PSV Secures Permanent Transfer for Matej Kovar
Acquisition of Goalkeeper Confirmed
PSV Eindhoven has officially announced that they have activated the purchase clause for goalkeeper Matej Kovar, who was initially brought in on loan from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer transfer window. This agreement included the option for a permanent transfer, which the Dutch club has now decided to execute.
Reports indicate that the move will cost PSV between €5 million and €7 million.
Kovar’s Journey and Performance
Matej Kovar was one of two goalkeepers acquired by PSV last summer, with Nick Olij being the other. However, Kovar quickly established himself as the preferred choice, competing effectively for the starting position. To date, he has made 26 appearances for the team.
At just 25 years old, Kovar’s career has been diverse. He has had loan spells with teams like Burton and Swindon, in addition to playing for Sparta Prague. After joining Bayer Leverkusen in 2023, he appeared in 32 matches for the Bundesliga club and has already kept five clean sheets in the Eredivisie while with PSV.
