Despite their historic success, Campos disclosed that the circumstances could have been quite different. He shared insights on how close coach Luis Enrique was to leaving the organization.

Campos’ Insight on Enrique’s Determination

Campos recounted a pivotal conversation he had with Enrique, where the coach expressed his frustration regarding training standards. “At the conclusion of his inaugural season, he remarked to me: ‘Luis, we need to elevate our training intensity with players performing at their peak, or else I’m done here,'” Campos relayed.

He added, “Enrique emphasized the importance of this approach, and now, whenever I’m in the process of recruiting a player, my first message is clear: we recognize your potential, but if you can’t commit to training at an elite level every day, you shouldn’t expect to step onto the field at all.”
