PSG Ordered by French Court to Compensate Kylian Mbappe
PSG’s Legal Pursuit Against Mbappé Dismissed by Court
The reigning champions of France had aimed to claim €440 million from Kylian Mbappé, alleging damages and a “loss of opportunity” subsequent to his departure on a free transfer to Real Madrid last summer.
Legal Controversy Overshadows Mbappé’s Achievements
Despite achieving significant success with six Ligue 1 titles and breaking the club record with 256 goals, Mbappé’s tenure at PSG has been marred by ongoing legal disputes.
Recent reports indicate that the club sought compensation related to a prospective €300 million transfer to Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal in 2023. However, a French court ruled in favor of the player today.
Claims of Concealment and Legal Outcomes
PSG asserted that Mbappé had hidden his intentions regarding contract renewal. Meanwhile, the legal team representing the French striker expressed satisfaction with the recent court decision.
“We are pleased with the verdict. This outcome was anticipated, especially considering the circumstances surrounding unpaid wages,” stated Mbappé’s attorney, Frederique Cassereau.
