PSG and Strasbourg Request Fixture Postponements
PSG’s Appeal
Paris Saint-Germain has approached the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) to request a delay for their Ligue 1 match against Lens, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 11. This match is positioned between two Champions League quarter-final matches against Liverpool, set for Wednesday, April 8, and Tuesday, April 14.
Strasbourg’s Request
Similarly, Strasbourg is seeking to reschedule their game against Brest on Sunday, April 12. This fixture falls between their Europa Conference League quarter-final encounters with Mainz, which are planned for Thursday, April 9, and the subsequent match on Thursday, April 16.
LFP’s Decision-Making Process
The LFP board is scheduled to convene on Thursday morning to evaluate and make decisions regarding these league matches. According to its regulations, the board has the authority to make such scheduling changes without needing the consent of the opposing teams.
Regulatory Authority
Article 22 of the LFP’s guidelines grants the board the power to manage the overall scheduling and modify fixtures throughout the season. The organization typically strives to accommodate clubs ahead of their European fixtures.
