DONE DEAL: Preston land ex-Newcastle fullback Lewis

Preston North End Signs Jamal Lewis

Preston North End has officially secured the services of free agent Jamal Lewis.

The fullback from Northern Ireland has been without a contract since leaving Newcastle United last summer.

Manager’s Comments

“We have faced a few injuries that have left our squad a bit short, so we felt the need to bring in some additional reinforcement in the short term, and I am thrilled we’ve managed to sign someone of Jamal’s quality,” said manager Paul Heckingbottom.

“He has experience competing at the highest level, has previously achieved promotion from this division, and has been representing his country internationally since 2018. Most importantly, he has demonstrated genuine enthusiasm for this opportunity and is ready to fully commit while he’s with us.”

Jamal Lewis Responds

Lewis shared his thoughts: “I had a conversation with the manager, who knows what I bring in terms of physicality and my contributions to any team I’m part of. I believe the team’s playing style will complement my strengths, making integration with the squad seamless.”

“I am eager to absorb as much information as possible to get up to speed quickly, so I can contribute to the team effectively.”
