Graham Potter Takes the Helm of Sweden’s National Team

Graham Potter expresses excitement as he steps into the role of head coach for the Swedish national football team.

The former manager of both West Ham and Chelsea has been appointed as Sweden’s coach today.

Aiming for Glory

“I am eager to work alongside the players to fulfill our supporters’ dream of experiencing a World Cup summer,” Potter stated.

“I feel honored to take on this role, and I am also significantly motivated. Sweden boasts exceptional players who perform at elite levels across global leagues. My objective is to establish the conditions necessary for our team to excel and secure a place in next summer’s World Cup.”

Contract Details

The agreement covers the current qualification phase, with fixtures against Switzerland and Slovenia scheduled for November, and a possible playoff in March. If Sweden qualifies, the contract will extend automatically to include the World Cup festivities next summer.

Support from the Swedish FA

Swedish Football Association’s chief, Kim Kallstrom, remarked, “We are very pleased to welcome Graham as the manager of our men’s national team. We recognize the challenges we face, and we are confident that his leadership will unite the team effectively.”

“He is tactically astute in establishing winning conditions and possesses a remarkable ability to identify players’ strengths and optimize their interactions within the team.”
