Player Status Committee Imposes Ban on Two Clubs for Deceptive Player Registration Practices
Suspension of Supreme Babies FC and Mosbees Soccer Agency FC
Ban Imposed
The Player Status Committee (PSC) has announced a 12-month suspension for both Supreme Babies FC and Mosbees Soccer Agency FC, barring them from all football activities. This suspension is effective immediately and will conclude on October 6, 2026.
Grounds for the Suspension
This action aligns with Article 21.1 of the GFA Disciplinary Code (2019), which outlines that:
“Individuals found to have forged, falsified, or used fake documents in relation to football activities will face fines and a suspension lasting no less than six months, or for a defined period of at least 12 months.”
Background of the Case
The decision stems from the fraudulent registration of player Anthony Aboagye, who lodged a complaint with the PSC regarding his unauthorized registration by Mosbees Soccer Agency FC, which was done without his consent and included incorrect information.
In his statement, Aboagye explained that he joined JMG Academy in 2016 and later transferred to their branch in Mali that same year. Upon returning to Ghana in 2024 to join Rumark FC, he discovered that he had already been registered by Mosbees Soccer Agency FC.
Player’s Appeal and Agency’s Admission
Aboagye sought the PSC’s intervention to investigate his case and correct his registration details. During the hearings, Mosbees Soccer Agency conceded to the fraudulent nature of the registration and requested leniency.
The inquiry also revealed that Mr. Paul Kingsford Abeokuta Ephraim, the proprietor of Mosbees Soccer Agency FC, is also the owner of Supreme Babies FC, which initially registered Aboagye before the later misregistration with Mosbees Soccer Agency FC.
PSC Findings and Recommendations
After reviewing the evidence, the PSC determined that the player bore no responsibility for the fraudulent actions surrounding his registration. Consequently, the committee recommended that all records pertaining to Aboagye’s registration be eliminated from their system. The PSC further confirmed that he is free to join any club of his choice with accurate information.
