FC Pafos defender David Luiz has shared his experiences of working alongside Napoli’s head coach Antonio Conte during their time at Chelsea.

Luiz spoke to Sky Italia, expressing, “At Chelsea, we often had disagreements, yet our goals were aligned. I felt that he harbored some frustration towards me for an extended period.” He further recounted, “Ultimately, we achieved success in both the Premier League and the FA Cup. Before moving back to Europe, Conte expressed interest in bringing me to Napoli. He mentioned he required a player with my intensity and uniqueness.”

However, Luiz pointed out, “In the end, I was unable to make the move due to not possessing a European passport.”

Discussing his current club, Luiz remarked, “From the very first moment, I sensed the deep love for football that this city holds. It makes a significant difference when you are in a place where the community values and respects you. I have had a longstanding relationship with the club’s owners.” He concluded by stating, “They are aware that my future ambition lies in becoming a coach.”
