New Ambitions for Espanyol Under Owner Alan Pace

A Vision for the Future

Alan Pace, the new proprietor of Espanyol, has shared his aspirations for the Catalan football club. In addition to overseeing Burnley in the Premier League, Pace engaged with supporters and club members at the RCDE stadium on Tuesday.

Success Defined

Pace expressed his vision for the club, stating, “To me, achieving success means positioning this club among the top six in the country. Winning additional trophies would certainly be a dream. However, the primary focus is to instill the mentality of being part of the top six, which is crucial.”

He further elaborated, “My ultimate success wish would be for this club to establish itself as a Top 6 team in Spain. If that becomes the common mindset, it’s fantastic; and winning more matches would certainly enhance our standing. It’s vital that others begin to view us as equals; this shift in perception is fundamental.”

Long-Term Goals

Pace also conveyed optimism about the club’s future: “I anticipate that we will achieve significant success within five years. There is considerable work required in our youth and women’s teams where we could excel beyond current expectations. As for the first team, aiming for European competition is a goal, but we must assess the feasibility of that.”

He concluded, “Our focus must be on supporting those currently involved to drive this vision forward and set that as our target. In five years, our aim is to transform our mindset, striving for success, and nurturing the desire to qualify for Europe. We are committed to contributing to that development.”
