Vinicius Junior Omitted from FIFPro Team of the Year Nominees

Real Madrid’s standout player, Vinicius Junior, has been overlooked by his professional peers for the 2024/25 Team of the Year selection.

FIFPro has announced the list of 26 contenders for the Best XI of the upcoming season, and Vinicius Jr did not make the cut. Reports from OkDiario indicate that the Brazilian forward was absent from the top 30 names, despite participation from over 28,000 professional players in the voting process.

Notable Contenders

Several of Vinicius Jr’s teammates at Real Madrid are featured among the nominees, including:

  • Thibaut Courtois
  • Trent Alexander-Arnold
  • Fede Valverde
  • Jude Bellingham
  • Kylian Mbappé

Additionally, former player Luka Modric, currently with AC Milan, is also included on the final list.

Last season, Vinicius Jr faced some controversy as he finished second in the Ballon d’Or race behind Manchester City’s Rodri.
