Nottingham Forest Terminates Ange Postecoglou’s Contract
Nottingham Forest has made the decision to part ways with manager Ange Postecoglou.
A significant 3-0 loss at home against Chelsea marked Postecoglou’s inability to secure a win in his eight matches since taking over the position after the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Official Statement from the Club
In a brief announcement shortly after the match concluded, Forest stated:
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of underwhelming results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.”
“The club will refrain from any additional comments at this moment.”
Performance Review
Postecoglou managed the team for a total of eight fixtures during his tenure at Nottingham Forest.
- Defeats: Six of these matches resulted in losses. Notably, one of the early setbacks occurred in the Carabao Cup against Swansea City, where Forest was leading 2-1 in the closing minutes before conceding two goals in rapid succession, ending the match at 3-2.
- Draws: The remaining two matches, played against Burnley (Premier League) and Real Betis (Europa League), concluded with draws.
