Clement remarked, “I’m familiar with him, and while we haven’t delved into this topic yet, my assistant Ryan (Garry) will act as a liaison with the academy, which plays a crucial role.”

He added, “I always assign this responsibility to a member of my staff. I held a similar position at Bruges, so I recognize its significance in identifying talents more swiftly.”

Clement also highlighted, “Many young players are currently practicing with the first team. Ajay is notably a standout talent on that list; he participated in the summer training camp with the first team and performed admirably. He is still very young.”

He continued, “We certainly aim to retain our top prospects, as this is essential for the future. This is a point of discussion with the ownership; they also wish to see players develop from our academy and integrate into the first team.”

Clement noted, “Norwich has a solid reputation for nurturing young players, although that may not be as apparent recently. Engaging with youthful talent is something I am passionate about, and it has been a focus in all my previous roles. Therefore, our intention is to keep Ajay.”
