Moyes Discusses Unfulfilled Ramsey Transfer and Evertons January Strategies

Moyes Confirms Everton’s Interest in Ramsey

Everton’s Pursuit of Jacob Ramsey

Everton’s manager, David Moyes, revealed that the club had intentions to sign Jacob Ramsey during the summer transfer window.

The young midfielder moved from Aston Villa to Newcastle United in the closing days of the transfer period.

Moyes Comments on Ramsey’s Decision

Despite Everton’s interest, Moyes acknowledged that Ramsey opted for a move to the Magpies. He stated, “He decided against joining us. He was among that group of players, and if you check their substitutes from last week’s match – Sandro Tonali was not in their starting lineup. This indicates the strength of their squad, and defeating Manchester City showcases their current caliber.”

Future Transfer Plans

When discussing potential acquisitions in January, Moyes commented, “I am optimistic that we will seek new signings if possible. The January window isn’t ideal for securing the right players at the right prices, but we will definitely aim to enhance the squad if the opportunity arises.”

He added, “Last January, we only managed to bring in Charly Alcaraz on loan. We may consider exploring the loan market again to address our needs. Rest assured, those responsible for player recruitment are actively searching for feasible options.”
