Moyes Acknowledges the Importance of On-Field Achievements for Everton’s Transfer Strategy

Moyes Acknowledges Need for Improvement to Boost Transfer Appeal
Difficulties in the Transfer Market
Everton’s manager, David Moyes, has expressed that achieving better results on the field is essential for enhancing the club’s attractiveness to potential signings. He recognized the challenges faced during their initial summer transfer window at the new stadium.
On Summer Transfers
Moyes commented, “We’re satisfied, but we didn’t manage to execute everything we aimed for in this window. Every team involved in player recruitment needs time to evaluate how newcomers will fit in.”
He added, “Considering our season’s start, one could say that we’ve performed well, and the new arrivals have integrated successfully. It’s uncommon for all new signings to hit the ground running immediately.”
Player Contributions
He noted the spending habits of other clubs, stating, “Many teams have invested significantly, yet not all of their players are currently performing at their best. However, a few of our acquisitions have notably impacted our positive start.”
Moyes emphasized the importance of Premier League experience, saying, “The players we’ve brought in largely come with experience in the Premier League, which is crucial for a club like ours.”
Challenges Ahead
The manager candidly reflected on the struggles they faced in the transfer market: “We were genuinely interested in numerous players, yet we couldn’t secure many of them. We weren’t an appealing option at that time.”
He concluded, “We need to develop gradually, improve our league standings incrementally, and maintain a positive mindset, taking one small step at a time. Therefore, we must manage expectations carefully.”
