Monchi Confirms Interest in Yeremay Hernandez for Aston Villa

Monchi has revealed that he inquired about Yeremay Hernandez from Deportivo La Coruna for Aston Villa.

Last month, Monchi stepped down from his role as the sports director at Aston Villa.

Attempt to Acquire Hernandez

Reflecting on the approach made for Hernandez, Monchi stated, “Prior to the opening of the transfer window, personnel from Deportivo were visiting the Aston Villa training facility, and our discussions centered around Yeremay. They made it clear that he would not be leaving.”

“They were unequivocal in their stance, expressing that they have no intention of selling him and aim for him to be a key player for Deportivo in La Liga.”

Additionally, Deportivo La Coruna secured a new contract for Yeremay, extending it until 2030 during the summer transfer period.
