Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi won the Player of the Year award at Norwegian side Fredrikstad for 2025 after delivering a standout campaign.
The 24-year-old produced an excellent season, making 37 appearances across competitions and earning praise for his consistency and leadership in defence.
Woledzi played a crucial role in Fredrikstad’s strong season and guided the club to its first Norway Cup title in 18 years.
He also secured a place in the Eliteserien Team of the Year after establishing himself as one of the league’s top defenders.
He joined Fredrikstad in 2023 on a contract that runs until December 2026 after previous spells with FC Nordsjaelland and Vitoria Guimaraes B.
Since moving to Norway, he has grown into a key figure for the club, using his aerial strength, game intelligence and calm presence to drive their recent success.
Woledzi’s current market value stands at €2.2 million, and several clubs continue to track him.
Major League Soccer side Nashville SC have already tabled an offer, and Fredrikstad will review the proposal in the coming days as interest in the Ghanaian grows.
