Real Madrid has reportedly decided to step back from their pursuit of Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, primarily because of the defender’s salary expectations.
The 25-year-old was on the verge of transferring to Liverpool at the end of the last summer transfer period; however, Crystal Palace halted the deal at the final moment.
Future Prospects for Guehi
Guehi’s departure from the club seems imminent, whether in January or as a free agent once his contract concludes at the season’s end.
The Spanish powerhouse had been interested in acquiring the England international to reinforce their injury-plagued defense. Nonetheless, a recent report by AS indicates that Real Madrid has been deterred by Guehi’s financial demands, making any potential agreement “virtually impossible”.

Liverpool is expected to renew their interest in Guehi, while German club Bayern Munich has also expressed significant admiration for the defender.
