Manchester United is maintaining that Joshua Zirkzee will only be sold in January through a direct cash transaction.

The Dutch forward is a target for AS Roma, and the interest appears to be reciprocated.

Reports from Il Corriere dello Sport indicate that Manchester United has already dismissed an initial proposal from Roma.

The offer made was for a loan arrangement with a purchase option linked to the team’s qualification for the Champions League. However, United seeks to realize immediate financial gain, especially after investing €42.5 million in 2024, and is not prepared to postpone the deal until June.

Zirkzee’s preferences are clear: he is only interested in joining Roma. Nevertheless, the prolonged uncertainty is beginning to frustrate the management at Trigoria, despite them having made proactive moves ahead of the winter transfer window.
