Manchester United Engages in Talks for AIK Fotboll’s Kevin Filling

Manchester United has initiated serious discussions regarding the acquisition of AIK Fotboll’s striker, Kevin Filling, this week.

Interest from Other Premier League Clubs

A couple of months prior, Tottenham had also shown interest in Filling, with manager Thomas Frank keen on securing the promising young talent before other clubs in the Premier League could make a move.

Player’s Performance and Background

Filling has already begun to make his mark in senior football with AIK in the Swedish Premier Division, netting two goals in seven games this season. The talented player, who has represented Sweden at the U17 level, made his first-team debut in June and made an immediate impact by scoring in his inaugural senior match, contributing to a 3-0 victory over Goteborg.

Current Status of Negotiations

According to journalist Florian Plettenburg, Manchester United is currently engaged in advanced negotiations with the young forward, who is available for a relatively low transfer fee.

“Exclusive | Manchester United is in concrete negotiations for a transfer involving Kevin Filling. The 16-year-old forward could depart AIK as early as this winter, with a price expected around €3 million. Several Bundesliga clubs are also interested in him.”

Standing at just over 6 feet tall at the age of 16, Filling certainly stands out. Following Tottenham’s withdrawal from the pursuit, Manchester United has visibly intensified their negotiations.

Connection with Existing United Players

Interestingly, United’s defender Victor Lindelof rose through a similar youth system in Vasteras, much like Filling. This connection could prove beneficial for Manchester United as they navigate discussions in the upcoming weeks.
