Man United Take Senegal U17 Captain Mouhamed Dabo On Trial

Manchester United are reportedly assessing highly rated Senegalese midfielder Mouhamed Dabo at their Carrington training ground.

The 17-year-old, who currently plays for Be Sport Academy in Senegal, has caught the attention of several European scouts following his impressive performances for Senegal’s U17 national team.

Dabo captained his side to qualification for the upcoming U17 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the teenager is currently on trial with the Red Devils, but FIFA’s age restrictions prevent the club from completing a move.

Romano noted on X (formerly Twitter) that the club has not yet begun the formal stages of a transfer, but a deal could follow once Mouhamed Dabo turns 18.

Under FIFA’s Article 19, part of its Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, FIFA bans English clubs from signing foreign players under the age of 18.

As a result, United can only finalize Dabo’s signing next June, during the summer transfer window, three months after his 18th birthday.
