Callisto Pasuwa Names 25-Man Malawi Squad For Decisive World Cup Qualifiers

Malawi head coach Calisto Pasuwa announced a 25-man squad for the final fixtures in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

 Thee United States, Canada, and Mexico will host the global showpiece next year.

The Flames will wrap up their Group H campaign with two crucial matches.

Away to Equatorial Guinea on October 9, before hosting São Tomé and Príncipe on October 13.

Victory in both games will lift Malawi’s hopes of securing a playoff spot. They will need to finish among the continent’s top four runners-up.

Among the notable inclusions is defender Jubril Okedina, who makes his return after missing recent outings.

Bohemian F.C. defender Jubril Okedina looks set to play competitive football for the first time since the Four Nations tournament in March 2024.

The 25-man Malawi squad, which includes 15 foreign-based players, will gather in Lilongwe on October 5 to start preparations for the doubleheader.
