Mike Maignan Approaches Departure from AC Milan
Contract Situation
Mike Maignan, the French goalkeeper, is increasingly likely to part ways with AC Milan as his contract is set to expire in June. Negotiations for a contract renewal have stalled, with little progress made.
Lack of Communication
Reports from Gazzetta.it indicate that there has been no communication between Maignan and the Milan management for several months. The club is preparing one final effort to secure an agreement, but a year ago, talks slow down considerably after Milan proposed extending his contract until 2028 with a salary increase from €2.8 million to €5 million net.
Demand and Interest from Other Clubs
Maignan is looking for a significantly higher salary—nearly double the last offer made by Milan. His impressive performances have attracted interest from several major clubs, including Chelsea, Juventus, and Bayern Munich. Starting January 1, he will be eligible to negotiate a pre-contract deal with teams outside of Serie A.
