Insigne Eyes Return to Rome

Lorenzo Insigne is turning down all proposals to remain available for Lazio. After spending several years with Toronto FC, the former captain of Lazio is back in Rome and maintaining an ongoing dialogue with coach Maurizio Sarri.

Potential Transfer Hurdles

Sarri is keen to bring the experienced midfielder into his team. However, despite Insigne being a free agent, any agreement cannot proceed until Lazio clears space within their roster by offloading a player in January.

Support from Club Leadership

In addition to Sarri’s interest, club president Claudio Lotito is also beginning to support the idea of re-signing Insigne. Nonetheless, Lazio’s sporting director Angelo Fabbiani remains hesitant and leans towards prioritizing acquisitions of younger talents under the age of 22, as reported by Il Corriere dello Sport.
