Frimpong to Be Out for Several Weeks – Slot

Injury Updates from Liverpool

Liverpool’s head coach, Arne Slot, has confirmed that Jeremie Frimpong will be sidelined for several weeks due to a groin injury, a more positive prognosis than initially anticipated.

Frimpong had to leave the pitch just four minutes into Liverpool’s 6-0 victory over Qarabag on Wednesday, prompting concerns for his fitness.

Upcoming Matches

With Frimpong’s absence, the Reds will approach their Premier League match against Newcastle United without a recognized right-back.

“Frimpong will definitely not be part of the squad tomorrow,” Slot stated. “He will be out for several weeks, but it’s not as severe as we feared, which provides a silver lining to an unfortunate situation.”

Previous Injuries

The 25-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen in May, had earlier dealt with a hamstring issue that kept him out for several weeks this season.

Additional Squad Concerns

Conor Bradley has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a serious knee injury, affecting both bones and ligaments.

Meanwhile, Joe Gomez, another right-back option, has also been ruled out against Newcastle because of a recent injury, although Slot expects him to return soon.

Striker Update

Speaking about injury concerns, Slot mentioned that striker Alexander Isak will not be rushed back from his leg and ankle surgery, as he has only recently stopped using a walking aid.
