Victor Lindelof Shares Insights on His Move to Aston Villa
Victor Lindelof has elaborated on his choice to join Aston Villa.
The captain of the Swedish national team departed from Manchester United this summer after his contract came to an end, opting for a new chapter with Villa.
Decision-Making Process
Lindelof revealed, “I explored several intriguing opportunities and discussed them with my family and agent. Ultimately, I concluded that returning to England was the right move for me, and I am truly pleased with that decision.”
He added, “I turned down numerous offers during the summer, but things have worked out positively. I felt that many options weren’t suitable for me and my family, especially in terms of football.”
Reflections on Other Opportunities
The defender remarked, “I’m not inclined to pursue a career in certain leagues, like the one in Saudi Arabia. It just doesn’t feel right from a family standpoint, particularly considering the impact on our children.”
He also mentioned, “My wife Maja was completely against the idea of relocating there. Thus, it was a rather straightforward decision for me not to go in that direction.”
