Lewandowskis Unforgettable First Goal at Camp Nou

Barcelona Celebrates Camp Nou Reopening with Early Striker Goal

The seasoned forward initiated the scoring just four minutes into the match, igniting Barcelona’s reopening celebration after more than two years of playing at alternative venues.

Delayed Reopening for Camp Nou

Barcelona had aimed to welcome fans back to Camp Nou a year earlier; however, various construction challenges and other setbacks necessitated multiple postponements.

“Today marked a significant moment not just for me but for everyone involved. I’m thrilled to have scored the inaugural goal during our return to Camp Nou,” Lewandowski shared with Barca One.

“Having played in numerous stadiums, there’s something uniquely special about this place. I’m immensely proud of myself and the entire team for our great effort today,” he added.

“This first goal is a memory I will cherish forever.”

A Step Forward for the Team

This victory placed Barcelona on equal footing with Real Madrid at the summit of La Liga, signaling an improvement in their recent form.

“I felt something special in the days leading up to this match after returning from international duty,” Lewandowski remarked. “We all understand that this game will be unforgettable for us.”

Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, commended the former Bayern Munich star’s performance.

“When he gets a chance, he has a remarkable ability to score almost every time,” Flick noted during a press conference.

“It was crucial for us to find the net early on, as it provided the confidence we needed.”

Fans Gather for the Historic Moment

Approximately 45,000 supporters were present in the three stands that were open, with the upper tier of the stadium still undergoing renovations. The completion of this project has now been pushed to 2027, a year later than initially planned.
