Kylian Mbappé: Analyzing the Remarkable Beginning of the Real Madrid Superstar’s Season

Kylian Mbappe: Breaking down Real Madrid star's stunning season start

Kylian Mbappé Shines as La Liga Heads into October Break

As La Liga EA SPORTS enters its October international hiatus, Kylian Mbappé is enjoying an exceptional period. Recently awarded the Player of the Month for September in Spain’s premier division, the French striker continued his stellar form with a goal in Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Villarreal CF, who currently sit third in the standings. This outcome, paired with FC Barcelona’s loss to Sevilla FC, ensures that Los Blancos will retain the top position during the break.

Mbappé’s Exceptional Goal-Scoring Form

Mbappé is undeniably in remarkable form, leading the Pichichi Trophy race for the league’s top scorer. He has netted nine goals across eight matches, establishing a three-goal lead over Atlético de Madrid’s Julián Álvarez, who follows as the second-highest scorer. The 26-year-old, who claimed this accolade last season alongside the prestigious European Golden Shoe, is determined to replicate his success in the current campaign.

Looking at performance across Europe, only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane has scored more goals than Mbappé at this stage; the English forward has found the net 18 times, including goals from German cup matches. In comparison, Mbappé has amassed 14 goals in 10 appearances, scoring nine in league matches and five in two Champions League games. Notably, he leads all players in the Champions League for goals at this early point in the season.

Mbappé’s current season is off to a far superior start compared to his debut with Real Madrid last year, when it took him 27 games to reach the same tally of 14 goals. This campaign, he has achieved this in just 10 matches.

His impressive goal-per-game ratio of 1.4 is reminiscent of Cristiano Ronaldo’s time with Real Madrid, where the Portuguese legend consistently scored at a prolific rate.

When factoring in his international appearances, Mbappé has tallied a staggering 16 goals since the summer, netting during each of France’s World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Iceland. Achieving 16 goals by early October underscores his remarkable performance.

Kylian Mbappé’s “Spectacular Season”

The performances that have led to Mbappé’s accolade as the Player of the Month for September and a nomination for August highlight his consistent excellence. His contributions on the field have greatly impressed his coach, Xabi Alonso.

“Mbappé is decisive in every match right now,” Alonso remarked this past week. “He is demonstrating his clinical nature in front of goal, and I’m pleased with his positive influence on the team. This could be a spectacular season for him.”

Following a productive campaign last season where he scored 45 goals in 60 matches for Real Madrid, Mbappé is setting his sights even higher in his second season with the club. There is a strong possibility he could surpass the 50-goal milestone this year while maintaining an impressive average of one goal per game.
