Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), visited the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence on October 25, 2025. His purpose was to meet with players and officials involved in the ongoing MTN Elite U19 Championship.
Observing Matchday Two
The GFA leader made a brief stop at the Football Association’s Technical Centre in Prampram to attend Matchday Two of the tournament. This event is recognized as a significant opportunity for discovering and nurturing budding football talent across Ghana.
Positive Impact on Players
During his visit, President Okraku had the chance to engage with players and officials from the Brong Ahafo and Northern Region prior to their highly anticipated match. This encouraging interaction seemed to have a direct effect, as Brong Ahafo achieved a remarkable 5–0 victory over Northern Region in their first game of the tournament. Accompanying him was his Chief of Staff, Michael Osekre, and together they motivated the young athletes to stay disciplined, focused, and dedicated to honing their skills.
About the Tournament
Running from October 23 to November 2, 2025, the MTN Elite U19 Championship features ten Regional Football Association (RFA) U-19 teams from across the nation. This tournament serves as an essential platform for Ghana’s most promising young players to display their abilities, gain competitive experience, and capture the attention of national youth team coaches and professional scouts.
