Toni Kroos Defends Vinicius Jr After Clasico Outburst

Toni Kroos has come to the aid of his former Real Madrid colleague Vinicius Jr following his emotional reaction during El Clasico.

Kroos Shares His Perspective

Reflecting on the situation, Kroos remarked, “When you’ve had an outstanding game, particularly in such a crucial match, it’s tough to accept being taken out. Personally, I’ve never appreciated being substituted.”

Kroos added, “However, I’ve never left directly for the locker room afterward.”

He continued, “While it’s easy to make judgments from the outside, it’s essential to remember that only those present during the Clasico, in front of 80,000 fans with the score at 2-1, can truly understand the desire to continue playing. Many who voice their opinions can’t fully grasp the emotions involved.”

Kroos further noted, “Once he has some time to reflect on it, he may realize, ‘I could have held onto my frustration for a bit longer.’ I understand that sentiment, but as evidenced in the photos, it doesn’t come across well. Yet, I want to stress that in the heat of the moment, emotions can be exceptionally intense during a match like that.”

A Message to Real Madrid Fans

Kroos also addressed the Real Madrid supporters, stating, “I’ve been in similar situations numerous times; thus, it’s advisable not to take everything so seriously. Typically, coaches maintain this perspective as well, particularly those who have played the game.”
