Bayern Munich has held the top spot in the Bundesliga since the first matchday and recently increased their advantage over second-place RB Leipzig to six points, even after a 2-2 draw with 1. FC Union Berlin.
No Surprises for Toni Kroos
For German football icon Toni Kroos, the dominance of his former team at the top of the table comes as no shock.
Kroos expressed to Sport1,
I’m not really surprised that Bayern is pulling ahead. They are very strong themselves, and I don’t see any significant competition.
He pointed out,
Leverkusen has had a complete transformation. Dortmund generally struggles with consistency. Also, I don’t view Leipzig as a traditional threat to Bayern.
Predictions for the Season
Kroos further noted,
It seems rather clear what will unfold this season. Bayern is certainly performing well, evident in their Champions League displays. However, in the Bundesliga, it appears that this year may not offer much excitement.
