Nigeria’s Iheanacho Vows More Goals After Europa League Debut Strike For Celtic

Kelechi Iheanacho says he is enjoying his football again at Celtic and has assured fans to expect more goals in the coming weeks.

The Nigerian striker was on target in Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw against Serbian side Crvena Zvezda, marking his Europa League debut with a composed finish in the 55th minute.

His strike made it three consecutive goal contributions since joining the Scottish champions.

The 28-year-old endured a difficult spell over the past two years with Leicester City, Sevilla, and Middlesbrough, but believes a change of environment has reignited his form.

“To be fair, I’ve been in touch with the gaffer for a while. But it was a good decision with my team to come to Celtic,” Iheanacho said after the match.

“As you can see, I’m enjoying in Celtic. So hopefully, there will be more goals to come and more performances to come.”

Celtic return to league action this weekend against Hibernian, with Kelechi Iheanacho eager to continue his fine start in green and white.
