Currently on loan at Barcelona, Rashford has voiced concerns that the culture and atmosphere at Manchester United have hindered his development in recent years.

Keane’s Rebuttal

In a statement on ITV, the former Manchester United captain responded to Rashford’s claims: “Towards the end of his time at United, there were evident issues. He was part of the problem regarding the environment, particularly as one of the more experienced players at the club.”

“He should have been establishing the standards and demonstrating to newcomers what it means to be a United player. This has been well documented. Now, he has an opportunity with England, and he has earned it.”

Keane acknowledged Rashford’s undeniable talent but noted, “What frustrated fans was his body language, such as not tracking back or failing to press effectively. Those are aspects he needs to improve, and if he does, there’s no reason he can’t reach world-class status.”
