Julian Alvarez’s Agent Responds to Transfer Speculations

Julian Alvarez’s representative has addressed rumors suggesting that Liverpool proposed a swap deal involving Luis Diaz for the striker prior to his transfer to Atletico Madrid last summer.

Transfer Claims and Reactions

Multiple sources have indicated that Diaz, 28, requested Liverpool to facilitate a transfer to Premier League rivals Manchester City once he learned of their interest.

Liverpool, hesitant to permit this transfer, reportedly considered offering Alvarez, 25, as part of the negotiation. However, Manchester City, under manager Pep Guardiola, refused to entertain this proposition.

Ultimately, Alvarez made a move to Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £82 million, and his agent, Fernando Hidalgo, has asserted that there were no formal offers made by Liverpool.

Hidalgo stated to Erem News, “There were no official offers from Liverpool to sign Julian last season, and everything that has been said in this regard is false.” He further clarified, “Last summer there were no offers because Atletico de Madrid didn’t want to sell the player, so negotiations didn’t take place.” In closing, he emphasized, “The player is fully committed to Atletico Madrid.”
