Urbig Remains in Bayern’s Plans Despite Limited Playtime

Limited Opportunities Compared to Last Season

Urbig has not experienced the same level of engagement this season as he did previously, when an injury to Neuer opened the door for him to make eight appearances in the Bundesliga and four in the Champions League after the new year of 2025. Nonetheless, Bayern Munich’s head coach, Vincent Kompany, continues to consider Urbig an integral part of his squad.

Urbig’s Preparedness

“I learned this morning at 11 o’clock that I would be starting,” Urbig shared. “I’m always ready in case something unexpected arises. If an incident were to occur with me today, Manuel would be prepared to step in. That’s how we approach our training as a collaborative goalkeeping unit, ensuring that anyone can take over when needed.”
