Wilfried Singo will spend one to two months out after he suffered a muscle injury during Galatasaray’s league win over Gençlerbirliği.
The Ivory Coast defender left the match in the 40th minute, and medical checks revealed a grade 2C tear with bleeding in the left posterior muscle group.
Galatasaray started his rehabilitation immediately, and the club expects him to return early in 2026.
Singo moved from Monaco to Galatasaray in the summer, but he has struggled to build momentum because of repeated injuries.
He missed one month earlier in the season after he picked up a problem in the match against Besiktas.
Despite those setbacks, he has played seven league games and produced one assist in the Turkish top flight.
Galatasaray must now cope without the 24-year-old as they enter a busy period in the league.
The injury also creates a major concern for the Ivory Coast national team.
The Elephants are finalising their plans for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which will run from December 2025 to January 2026, and Singo features heavily in their defensive plans.
Singo’s contract with Galatasaray runs until 2030, and the club believes he will complete his recovery without further issues.
