Algeria’s Ismaël Bennacer Turns to Ousman’s Dembélé’s Fitness Coach for Career Revival
Ismael Bennacer is drawing inspiration from PSG star Ousmane Dembélé after the French man was named winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or award on Monday.
Dembele had spent several years struggling with recurring injuries. Few few believed he would ever find the consistency needed to compete at the highest level again.
That consistency, however, is exactly what allowed him to claim football’s most prestigious individual award.
He managed to turn his career around after finding the right person to guide him.
Renowned fitness coach Jean-Baptiste Duault rebuilt the Paris Saint-Germain star’s physical condition and restored his confidence.
AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer who is currently on loan at Dinamo Zagreb is hoping to follow the same path.
Bennacer’s career has been hampered by knee surgery in 2023.
Along with recurring ankle, hamstring, and adductor injuries that caused frequent setbacks
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Algerian international revealed his decision to work with the same specialist, Duault.
“I’ve been through many difficult moments with injuries. But I want to use those challenges as fuel,” he said.
“My goal is to follow the same path as Dembélé, come back stronger. And become even more decisive for both my club and my country” Bennacer concluded.
