Inter Milan Looks to Secure Manuel Akanji’s Transfer
Inter Milan’s leadership has made a clear decision regarding their on-loan defender, Manuel Akanji.
Transfer Details and Impressions
The Swiss international made his move to Inter during the closing days of the summer transfer window, arriving on a season-long loan from Manchester City with a potential buy option.
Permanent Transfer Condition
The option to secure Akanji on a permanent basis is valued at €15 million. According to reports from Il Corriere dello Sport, the defender has already made a strong enough impression on the management to consider implementing this buy clause.
The buy option will become mandatory if Akanji participates in at least 50% of Inter’s matches this season. However, the club’s management seems inclined to proceed with the purchase regardless of whether he meets this threshold.
Inter’s sporting director, Piero Ausilio, is notably satisfied, especially since he had previously negotiated a deal for Akanji with Borussia Dortmund for €10 million before Manchester City’s intervention three years ago.
