Louis Saha Slams Marcus Rashford for ‘Lack of Accountability’ After Barcelona Move

Louis Saha Criticizes Marcus Rashford’s Accountability at Manchester United

Rashford’s Transfer to Barcelona

Louis Saha has expressed disappointment in Marcus Rashford, alleging that the striker has displayed a “lack of accountability” during his tenure at Manchester United, particularly following his impressive start at Barcelona.

The 27-year-old forward made a surprising move to Barcelona during the summer transfer period, with the La Liga champions reportedly having a buyout clause of £30 million at the end of the season.

If Barcelona decides to utilize this option, it would mark the end of Rashford’s 20-year association with Manchester United, a club he joined as a seven-year-old.

Rashford has quickly adapted to his new environment, contributing five goals and five assists in his first 13 matches for Barcelona across all competitions.

Saha’s Concerns About Rashford

Saha, a former forward for Manchester United, believes Rashford should have sought a resolution with the club instead.

“As a professional, it’s essential to find solutions, regardless of the relationship with the manager,” Saha commented during an interview with a sports betting platform, BetVictor.

“We all go through challenging moments on the pitch, and his response wasn’t adequate. I observed a player who appeared out of form and didn’t want to be present, which is unusual.”

“It’s abnormal to perform in that manner. You may be considering a transfer, but once on the field, it’s about giving your all. He wasn’t putting in the effort, and it was evident that something was amiss and he was dissatisfied.”

“You shouldn’t allow anything to diminish your enjoyment while playing because there’s a responsibility to the fans. It’s not solely about the manager or club ownership; it’s about the thousands of fans purchasing tickets.”

“I feel frustrated because it comes across as a waste and reflects a lack of accountability. I’m thrilled for him as a player, not just for myself but for fans worldwide in Barcelona who can now appreciate a fantastic talent. Yet, as a Manchester United supporter, it’s hard to ignore my frustration.”
