Identifying the Successor to Antoine Semenyo

Antoine Semenyo’s Potential Move to Man City: What to Expect

Antoine Semenyo appears to be on the verge of moving from Bournemouth to Manchester City, with reports indicating that the fee could be around £65 million.

Rising Stars Worth Watching

The 25-year-old attacker is not the only impressive player outside the European spots this season; several others may also draw interest from top-tier clubs.

Here’s a look at three players who could be the next to attract high-value transfers.

1. Iliman Ndiaye – Everton

Similar to Semenyo, Ndiaye is an adaptable forward, capable of playing in multiple attacking positions, though he has primarily taken on the role of a right winger since Jack Grealish’s shift to the left.

While his goal-scoring record of four goals and two assists over 16 Premier League matches doesn’t quite match Semenyo’s output, it’s essential to note that Ndiaye operates within a less attacking setup.

Ndiaye excels in one-on-one situations, demonstrating impressive dribbling skills that have led him to complete 34 successful dribbles this season. He’s proven to be a challenging opponent for defenders. Though previously linked to a Man City transfer, the shift in their focus to Semenyo makes a move for Ndiaye less likely. Everton is expected to demand a significant transfer fee for their star player.

2. Jaih Minteh – Brighton

Brighton has built a reputation for scouting and acquiring talented players at lower prices and later selling them for large sums. The transfer of Moises Caicedo to Chelsea remains their most profitable deal to date, but it might not be the last major transaction.

Minteh’s signing was somewhat unconventional; Brighton scouted him for a year while he played in Slovenia’s second division. He had a successful loan spell at Feyenoord, which caught the attention of the club.

Minteh, though still developing, shows great potential as a creative force, having generated 28 scoring opportunities, delivered 19 successful crosses, and made 44 successful dribbles this season. His inconsistency remains a point of concern, as he can fluctuate between being the standout performer or largely invisible in matches. At just 21, there’s ample time for him to refine his skills. Expect Chelsea to eye him for a transfer in the near future.

3. Kevin Schade – Brentford

Brentford, Brighton, and Bournemouth share similarities—not just in their names. They have a systematic approach to player recruitment, anticipating that some signings may soon depart for profitable transfers.

Recently, Brentford has faced significant changes. Following the departure of Thomas Frank and the loss of key attacking players Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa, Igor Thiago has taken up the challenge in Wissa’s absence, while Schade steps in to replace Mbeumo.

With a record of six goals and one assist over 18 Premier League outings, Schade is the closest in scoring to Semenyo, who has notched nine goals. His match performance in a 4-1 victory against Bournemouth highlighted his talent, as he scored a hat trick with just six shots, illustrating his effectiveness in the final third. Like the others, Schade is expected to attract attention from top clubs as the transfer window approaches.
