Hurzeler Acknowledges Brighton Might Reclaim Ferguson; Excited If Salah Starts for Liverpool
Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler Expresses Desire for Mohamed Salah in Liverpool Showdown
Brighton’s head coach Fabian Hurzeler expressed a wish to see Mohamed Salah feature in Liverpool’s starting lineup this Saturday.
The Seagulls are set to visit Liverpool this Saturday, currently positioned in eighth place, two spots above Liverpool in the rankings.
When questioned about the ongoing situation regarding Salah, Hurzeler shared his enthusiasm for the possibility of the Egyptian playing in the match.
He remarked, “Facing top players from the best teams is always what we aim for. We embrace such challenges, though to be honest, we have no insight into how Liverpool might line up or which formation they will employ against us.”
When pressed about Salah’s disagreements with Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot and the club’s administration, Hurzeler emphasized the importance of maintaining their focus on their own game.
He elaborated: “Our priority is to concentrate on our own principles and style of play. Approaching Anfield, we recognize that regardless of Liverpool’s current situation, it will be a significant challenge, and our goal is to face that head-on and secure a win.”
## Both Teams Facing Inconsistency
Discussing the upcoming match at Anfield, Hurzeler acknowledged that both teams have experienced ups and downs this season.
He added: “We too have had our fair share of inconsistencies this year, and it seems like only a couple of clubs in the league are currently maintaining steady performances.”
“The rest of us are in a tight competition, and Liverpool is very much part of that mix.”
“Every match presents us with a chance to grab a victory, and this season we have consistently shown that we can compete with other teams.”
Hurzeler was also asked about Evan Ferguson’s ongoing loan at Roma.
Following Ferguson’s remarkable two-goal performance in Roma’s Europa League win against Celtic last night, discussions have circulated regarding the possibility of terminating his loan in January.
Hurzeler confirmed this morning: “Evan is still very much a player for us, which is why he remains a potential option. While he is currently on loan, we are keeping an eye on his progress and are pleased with his performance from yesterday. It’s clear that he could be brought back into the fold.”
