Historic Transfer: Hibs Honors Bowie with Record Move to Hellas Verona
Kieron Bowie Joins Hellas Verona from Hibernian
Hellas Verona has finalized the acquisition of Hibernian striker Kieron Bowie.
Record Transfer Fee
Bowie’s transfer to Verona comes with a fee that sets a new record for Hibernian. Although the club has not publicly disclosed the specific amount, it is reported to significantly surpass the £4.4 million that Celtic paid for Scott Brown back in 2007.
Manager’s Remarks
“First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to Kieron for his professionalism over the past 18 months,” commented Hibernian’s manager, David Gray.
“He has been a joy to coach, and it has been wonderful to collaborate with him both on and off the field. This is a transformative opportunity for him and his family. I believe he has a promising future ahead, and we wish him all the best in Italy and in the years to come.”
Reflections from the Club
Malky Mackay, the sporting director at Hibernian, also shared his thoughts: “It has been a pleasure witnessing Kieron’s growth during his time with us and observing his progression through the international youth teams leading up to his debut for the senior Scotland team.
There has been ongoing speculation surrounding Kieron’s future, with multiple clubs showing interest throughout the transfer window. We have worked diligently to secure a deal that reflects his worth and serves the best interests of Hibernian and all parties involved.”
