Harry Kane Unveils Bayern Munich’s Striking New Champions League Kit
Bayern Munich’s striking new Champions League jersey is ready to make its European debut this season. The kit pays homage to the club’s illustrious history, as well as the city it proudly represents.
Bayern’s New Kit Embraces Munich Heritage
Bayern’s very own Harry Kane is among the stars to have debuted the stylish new black shirt, which sports red and green accents. The jersey proudly nods to Bayern’s status as Germany’s champion record-holders, and even includes a tribute to Munich’s Marienplatz – the city’s vibrant heart where the squad traditionally celebrates their title victories. The shirt also showcases the historic FC Bayern eV logo from the 1920s, alongside the retro adidas Trefoil, adding a touch of nostalgia to the modern design.
A Salute to the Fans
Adding a personal touch for the fans, the shirt hem carries the message, “Greetings from the Town Hall Balcony”. This is a heartfelt salute to the iconic spot where trophies are paraded and fans gather to celebrate their team’s triumphs. This unique detail encapsulates adidas’ mission to help Bayern celebrate their Munich heritage in style.
Bayern Munich’s Statement on the New Kit
In a statement, the club explained: “The new Champions League kit is the outcome of the third successful collaboration between FC Bayern, adidas and BSTN. The jointly developed jersey strongly champions home, identity and culture, with the entire design celebrating the close ties between club, players and fans at the Allianz Arena, in Munich and worldwide. The black jersey’s red, green and off-white accents blend sporting functionality with urban style. Retro details such as the historic FC Bayern eV logo from the 1920s and the iconic adidas Trefoil logo underline the club’s rich heritage while adding a modern twist. It’s a stylish tribute that dazzles both on the pitch and within streetwear culture.”
Champions League: What’s Next?
Bayern will discover their first opponent for the new season’s Champions League when UEFA conducts the league phase draw on August 28. Similar to last season, Bayern will face eight teams and need to finish within the top 24 of the 36-team standings to qualify for the knockout rounds. A top-eight finish would earn them a bye straight to the last 16.
Matchday one is set for September 16-18. However, the new European jersey will actually make its debut even sooner, in a pre-season game against Tottenham Hotspur at the Allianz Arena on August 7. So, get ready to see this sleek new kit in action!
