Harry Kane Recognized as FC Bayern's February Player of the Month

Harry Kane’s Stellar February Performance

A Standout Moment in the DFB Cup

Harry Kane’s encounter with RB Leipzig in the DFB Cup last February was noteworthy for the English forward. He made headlines not only for scoring a penalty in Bayern Munich’s 2-0 quarter-final triumph—marking his sixth goal in this season’s cup run—but because it marked the only game last month in which he scored just once. In all other matches, he found the net twice, all in the Bundesliga. His incredible performance mirrors the feats of past players, as only Lothar Emmerich in 1967 and Tomislav Marić of Wolfsburg in 2001 had previously accomplished such a scoring rate. After a tight 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund, Kane remarked, “There are times during a season when everything aligns perfectly, and I’m experiencing that right now.”

Player of the Month Recognition

Netting nine goals across five competitive fixtures naturally led to Kane being honored as the FC Bayern Player of the Month for February.

A Renowned Scoring Streak

Kane initiated his impressive run on February 8 during a home game against TSG Hoffenheim, where he contributed both the opening goal and the second, both from the penalty spot, while assisting on another goal. A week later, against Werder Bremen in a 3-0 win, he again scored his first through a penalty and quickly added another, marking his 26th goal of the season. In a closely contested 3-2 match versus Eintracht Frankfurt, he scored the second goal with a header and followed up with a left-foot strike for the third. Finally, during the pivotal clash against Borussia Dortmund, Kane’s two goals turned the tide, bringing Bayern from behind to lead 2-1. Notably, his second goal was his tenth penalty conversion of the season—a record number in the Bundesliga since Paul Breitner in the 1980/81 season—despite having only touched the ball 13 times in the first half.

Voting Results

Kane secured the Player of the Month title convincingly, receiving 41.5% of the votes. He was followed by Luis Díaz with 25.3% and Joshua Kimmich at 7%. This latest honor places Kane at the forefront of the overall rankings, marking his third monthly award this season after victories in September and October 2025.
