Hakimi provides positive injury update ahead of AFCON 2025

Achraf Hakimi has delivered the update Morocco wanted to hear, less than a month to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The PSG star, who went down after a fierce clash with Luis Díaz in the Champions League, says his recovery is on track and his pain is gone.

In a new Canal+ feature, Hakimi appears in good spirits during rehab. He explains that the inflammation has cleared and he now trains with confidence and optimism.

“I’m staying locked in and pushing every day to be ready for AFCON,” he says.

The Africa Cup of Nations kicks off in December in Morocco, and Hakimi has set the tournament as a top target.

Walid Regragui plans to build his right side around the 26-year-old, but the injury scare raised concerns about his readiness.

Hakimi missed several weeks after the collision with Díaz, but PSG coach Luis Enrique continues to rely heavily on him.

Both the club and the Moroccan FA expect him to return fully fit for December, giving him time to sharpen up before the business end of the season.
