Real Madrid legend Guti has expressed his belief that Xabi Alonso is the perfect choice for the managerial position at the club. Having played alongside Alonso during their career at Real Madrid, Guti recognizes the same leadership qualities in Alonso as a coach that he exhibited as a player.

In an interview with DAZN, Guti remarked, “He was the kind of player you could tell would eventually take on a leadership role, particularly due to his playing position.”

He elaborated, “On the field, he was a key figure, constantly communicating between the defense and the forwards. It was evident that he would eventually transition to coaching.”

Guti’s Aspirations and Thoughts on Players

When asked if he would enjoy playing under Xabi, Guti replied affirmatively: “Absolutely, I would relish the chance to play in the position that Arda Guler occupies. It mirrors the role I had while at Madrid, and I would love to compete alongside players like Rodrygo, Jude Bellingham, Vinicius, and Kylian Mbappé. Engaging with such high-caliber players would undoubtedly elevate my game.”

He further conveyed his enthusiasm for coaching, stating, “I’m always eager to take on coaching opportunities, particularly substantial challenges. However, I haven’t encountered a significant challenge yet, but I’m open to it. While I enjoy being a commentator, I envision myself coaching and hope to have a chance, just like Xabi Alonso did, to manage a top-tier team.”
