Guiu revisits "chaotic" Chelsea recall from Sunderland; insists no regrets

Chelsea’s Marc Guiu Reflects on His Loan Move to Sunderland

Initial Loan Agreement

Chelsea forward Marc Guiu has shared his thoughts on his recently interrupted loan spell at Sunderland. The striker started the current season on loan with the Championship side before being recalled by Chelsea on the last day of the transfer period.

Guiu’s Perspective

“We were excited and eager to join Sunderland to gain valuable experience in the top tier,” Guiu explained in an interview with RTVE. “However, when Delap suffered an injury, I needed to return to Chelsea. Now, I am back with determination, training hard each day.”

He further elaborated, “Once (Nicolas) Jackson declined a return from Bayern, the club reached out to me. We had a quick discussion, and the situation moved rapidly. My ultimate goal is to succeed at Chelsea, and that’s how it unfolded.”

Guiu described the entire process as somewhat hectic but maintained a positive outlook. “I approach every situation with optimism and chose to enjoy every moment, as a footballer’s career is brief.”

Thoughts on Sunderland

Regarding his time at Sunderland, Guiu stated, “I harbor no regrets. Every choice I make in my career is intentional. Currently, I’m dedicated to seizing every opportunity during training and matches to maximize my playing time. Now, I’m at what I consider the best club in the world.”
