Guardiola Expresses Desire to Bring Alvarez Back to Manchester City

Guardiola: I'd love to have Alvarez back with Man City

Guardiola Expresses Desire for Alvarez’s Return to City

Manchester City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has expressed his heartfelt wish to bring back Julian Alvarez, currently excelling at Atletico Madrid in his second season.

Alvarez’s Success in Spain

The Argentine forward has made a significant impact during his time at Atletico, showcasing impressive performances in LaLiga and European competitions.

Guardiola’s Reflections

During a recent statement, Guardiola reminisced about the players he had during their treble-winning season, mentioning: “Do you remember the players I left on the bench? Aymeric Laporte, an exceptional defender and a mainstay for the national team, Julián (Alvarez) and others I wished I could still have. They left seeking more playtime.”

Guardiola continued, highlighting the challenge Alvarez faced: “Julian had to vie for a spot with Erling (Haaland), a situation that was remarkable for us. Now he’s at one of the top teams globally, Atletico Madrid, under one of the best coaches, Diego Simeone, alongside world-class teammates, and he’s performing exceptionally.”

He concluded by acknowledging his desire: “Now, I would love to have him by my side… but I understand his decision.”
