Gracia Steps Down from Watford After Only Three Months as Manager
Javi Gracia Steps Down as Watford Manager
Watford Football Club has announced that Javi Gracia has resigned from his position as manager.
Reasons for Resignation
Gracia’s departure comes after a disappointing defeat against Swansea City on Saturday, marking the end of his brief three-month tenure at the club. Following the game, he requested a meeting with club owner Gino Pozzo, expressing concerns about the team’s current struggles.
Club Statement
The club released a statement saying, “We believed Javi was the right choice to guide the club in its pursuit of promotion. However, Javi indicated that he lacked the motivation and did not feel he was the best fit to lead this talented group of young players.” They further stated, “We honor his decision and agree to his immediate departure from Vicarage Road.”
As it stands, Gracia leaves the team in tenth place in the Championship standings.
Interim Management
In the wake of his resignation, Charlie Daniels, Dan Gosling, and Adrian Mariappa are expected to take charge of the team as they prepare for their upcoming match against Hull City on Tuesday.
